Welcome Ralph. Wouldn't it be great if we could do all of that (I haven't worn a beret since my convent schoolgirl days) while leaving the egos at the door? It always interests me, that ego-topping you refer to which is so strong in some writers and artists -- the very opposite to what must happen in the moment of creation itself when the ego is set aside. Perhaps that is why it bounces up so strongly in leisure hours?

Hey, Orna Ross. (I first read your name as "Oma". No question my visual intelligence needs upgrading.) Your topic, subject matter, intrigues me. I am still circling around the entrance maze of inter-netting. (My blog currently has several posts - tagged with irony and humor - on the subject.)I am looking for a "salon" (virtually speaking) on the arts - visuals, writings, poetry, etc. The thought long ago triggered by reading of the Paris salons of the 1920s and the barroom gatherings of the abstract expressionists and beats in the NYC 1940s. Maybe all will wear berets and sip wine and beer while trying to top each others egos at your "gathering." Good wishes. Ralph
