We don’t always get to choose what happens to us.  There is an outer world at work over which we have limited control.  But we can always – always – choose how we respond to what happens.

  • “Oh no.”
  • “This should never have happened.”
  • “Why me?”
  • “I don’t believe it.”
  • “Why oh why?”

Responses like these, that resist what is, keep us stuck in place.  Creativity cannot operate within resistance.

So the proper answer to everything – everything – that happens – is: “Ok”.

  • “Ok.”
  • “So be it.”

It’s a short step from “Ok” to “Now what?”  Instead of resisting, we start listening.  We become open again. Possibilities expand.  Inspiration can rise.  Something new can be created.
