This week’s highlights: Dalma Szentpály and I show you How to Work With a Poetry Editor; Howard Lovy interviews Christine Reynebeau, a children’s author who teaches kids non-traditional lessons…and, as ever, Dan Holloway has all the latest self-publishing news from the Alliance of Independent Authors blog roundup 2020 Week 10.
London Book Fair is Cancelled
In light of the current Coronavirus outbreak and the risks posed to individuals and the wider public by attendance at large international events, the London Book Fair will not be going ahead this year.
This means that we won’t be running an ALLi stand at the fair, all panel discussions we were participating in are cancelled, as are our social engagements, including the ALLi party.
We are very disappointed that we are not able to proceed as planned with what is always a highlight in our calendar year.
Thank you for your understanding.
Self-Publishing Advice Roundup:
- In the latest #AskALLi Self-Publishing Poetry Podcast, Dalma Szentpály and I show you how to work with a poetry editor and how to find the editing process that’s right for you.
- This week’s Inspirational Indie Authors podcast sees Howard Lovy interviewing Christine Reynebeau, a children’s author who used the experience she gained working in youth development to write books that teach lessons often missed by traditional books aimed at kids. Along the way, she went through some horrific experiences with vanity presses before she finally found the right formula for self-publishing success with Dreambuilt Books.
- And finally, in Dan Holloway’s regular indie author news round-up this week, he’s looking at; London Book Fair is cancelled; US Selfies extends deadline; a new tool from Wattpad; and AI Audiobooks.
Lots to learn and ponder, as ever.
Each Wednesday I bring you this round up from the self-publishing advice blog, run by the Alliance of Independent Authors, the non-profit association for self-publishing authors. We offer many benefits to indie authors.
