Flow Practice Theme of the Week: Channelling Wild Mind

Creativity is your wild mind channeled. This week, in our Creative Flow Practice Group, we’ve been exploring different aspects of wildness and creative flow.

The conventional world works hard to tame us and our own susceptibility to doubts and distraction, safety and conformity, leaches us of creative energy and numbs the call of the wild, the weird and the wonderful.

The creative call is always a call to some kind of wildness, channeled through the focus of the will.

In inspiration meditation and F-R-E-E-Writing we explored questions like:

  • What conditions in our lives lead us towards the wild, which lead us away?
  • How do we feed our need for the wild without descending into chaos? Or chasing one dream after another?
  • How can we get out into the wild more often, find the wild places and spaces near our homes?

In short, how do we keep wildness alive in us, as we grow our businesses, make an income, balance the needs of work and life?

My Creative Week: Week 35, Q3, 2019

Here’s what I achieved, wearing my three work hats.

MAKER: I got two more chapters of Creative Self-Publishing down.

MANAGER: Did the planning set up of a new Home Page and Downloads for OrnaRoss.com, that will incorporate printables from the Go Creative! planner. Set up will happen next week.

MARKETER: Entered the Mslexia and Writers Digest poetry competitions.

What about you, how was your creative week? What did you produce, process or promote in your creative business?

In our Go Creative! in Business group, each Monday we outline our creative intentions to each other. And then we follow up on a Saturday with what we’ve actually accomplished during the week. What’s unique about our group is that our report is given under the three hats a creative entrepreneur must wear: that of Maker (who produces), Manager (who processes) and  Marketer (who promotes).
