creating what you want

Here are seven reasons why you may not be creating what you want… and how to fix them:

1. YOU’RE LACKING CREATIVE INTELLIGENCE:
By this, I mean the information you need about the creative process and how to engage and develop your own creative capacity.

Without creative intelligence, you’re unclear about how conscious creation works. You haven’t learned the essential principles and practices.

Result: You’re at a loss or confused.

Recommendation: You need to get more information about the true nature of the creative process and how to align with it
2. YOU’RE LACKING CREATIVE AUTONOMY:
By this, I mean control over your day and your creative process.

Without it, you’re not in touch with your true wants. You’re dancing to somebody else’s tune, being led by theri opinion of what you should do and how. Or led by your own cravings, compulsions or resistance.

Result: You’re dependent or self-sabotaging.

Recommendation: You need to observe your own process, rhythm and needs and see how to shape your days and weeks around what you most want to create.
3. YOU’RE LACKING CREATIVE ACCEPTANCE:
By this, I mean the ability to relax, go with the flow, allow the creative process to do its thing.

Without creative acceptance, you resist release and surrender. You may have been told these are passive or weak, rather than what they are: the core of creative strength.

Result: You’re frustrated, angry or exhausted.

Recommendation: You need creative flow practice: meditation, f-r-e-e-writing, effortless exercise. Join our Facebook group here.

4. YOU’RE LACKING CREATIVE PRESENCE:
By this, I mean the ability to become mindful and enter the present moment, which is where creative flow arises.

Without creative presence, you can’t cultivate flow. You don’t know how to induce the create-state, how to let your subconscious do the heavy lifting.

Result: You’re pushing or striving too hard.

Recommendation: You need to know how to consciously summon what the Go Creative! in Business books (see below) call “the create state”
5.YOU’RE LACKING CREATIVE FOCUS:
By this, I mean the ability to harness and direct your creative attention, at will.

Without creative focus, you can’t settle or select. You haven’t learned, in a distracting and fast-moving world, how to channel the power of your creative attention.

Result: You’re over-stretched or distracted.

Recommendation: You need to understand the creative concepts of channels and containers.
6. YOU’RE LACKING CREATIVE COURAGE:
By this, I mean Without creative courage, you’re short on spirit. You can’t experiment with your life, learn from failure, put yourself out there…take risks from a place of safety.

Result: You’re missing opportunities or falling short.

Recommendation: You need to know how to reframe debilitating anxiety as creative ferment, how to shift it from being a block to a source of creative energy
7. YOU’RE LACKING CREATIVE FAITH:
By this, I mean the ability to allow larger forces than your willed, conscious mind to do their work.

Without creative faith, you don’t trust the process. You haven’t practised your own way enough to relax into creative conviction.

Result: You’re doubting or dithering, distracted or blocked.

Recommendation: You need core creative practice. Creative confidence is a muscle. Flex it!
