How was your creative week? Here are my creative accomplishments log week 24 2019. You can share yours with us in our Facebook group here.
My creative intentions, as outlined in the Facebook group last Monday, were:
- MAKER: Recording ALLi’s Copyright Bill of Rights and doing the edits on Creative Self-Publishing.
- MANAGER: Refining the process for the Poetry Open Mic and ALLI author payment records.
- MAXIMIZER: Facebook Ads reprise. I did try ads before, with some success, but have never managed to maintain regularity. I want to see if I can fit ads into my weekly routine and use them to further the mission, so the benefit of the ad itself is creative as well as commercial
Here’s what I actually achieved:
It took me longer than expected to integrate the feedback we received on the Copyright Bill of Rights, so recording is only halfway through. Second half next week.
The two aspects of the Poetry Event are now split into two separate events. We’ll cover “Self-Publishing Poetry” on the ALLi podcast instead of a live online open mic, which proved nigh-on impossible (easier to herd cats than poets!)
In addition, I’ll issue a monthly poetry podcast, “Indie Poetry Please”, where the poets submit pre-recorded poems. Howard and I are working on this show now. I updated my Patreon Page to tell my patrons about the changes to the process.
MAXIMIZER: Has done the research and decided to focus on video and carousel ads with an education spin where possible.
What about you, how was your creative week? What did you produce, process or promote in your creative business?
In our Go Creative! in Business group, each Monday we outline our creative intentions to each other. And then we follow up on a Saturday with what we’ve actually accomplished during the week. What’s unique about our group is that our report is given under the three hats a creative entrepreneur must wear: that of Maker (who produces), Manager (who processes) and Maximizer(who promotes).
