Creative Flexibility: Accomodating, Negotiating, Integrating, Deviating
Our theme for creative flow practice this week is: Creative Flexibility. Join us for morning meditation and f-r-e-e-writing practice here.
Are you looking forward to the creative week ahead? Below I map my creative intentions for my author business for this week (Week 41 Q3 2019), under the hats a creative entrepreneur must wear: maker, manager, marketer.
Have you decided on your intentions for this week yet? Join us here to map your creative week.
Creative Flexibility: Observe Your Energy
As creatives life sometimes supports us and carries us along in the direction we want to go and sometimes it doesn’t. And life doesn’t explain itself, it just delivers things to experience, and experiences to process.
Our part is just to decide how we’ll respond. Are we going to accommodate, negotiate, integrate, deviate?
The most creative response is the one that makes best use of our creative energy. This calls directly for creative flexibility.
Resistance, fighting something that we’d never choose but cannot be changed or helped, is a creative drain. Going with the flow, understanding that we don’t know best, that life knows more than we do and allowing what is to be, while at the same time staying true to our creative intentions and to what life might be saying about that: this is the creative way.
The theme of creative flexibility has personal resonance for me at the moment. I’ve been dropped into a life situation where I have one set of intentions… but life seems to intend something quite different.
We’re exploring the theme this week in f-r-e-e-writing and meditation.
What about you? How might your work benefit from a little flow practice? Does crative flexibility come easy to you?
Come explore with us in creative flow practice.
Mapping Creative Intentions Week 41, 2019
In our Go Creative! in Business group, each Monday we outline our creative intentions to each other. And then we follow up on a Saturday with what we’ve actually accomplished during the week. What’s unique about our group is that our report is given under the three hats a creative entrepreneur must wear: that of Maker (who produces), Manager (who processes) and Maximizer (who promotes). Join the group to map your intentions and log your accomplishments.
Here are my intentions for the coming week:
- MAKER: More chapters of Creative Self-Publishing.
- MANAGER: Determined to get my tax information early to my accountant this year. Tried last week, and failed but on the slate again this week.
- MARKETER: Further investigation of Amazon ads as they add UK and Germany to their advertising platform.
That’s what I’ll be up to in my author business. What about you? What will you be producing, processing or promoting this week?
Do pop over to our Go Creative! in Business Facebook group, where we support and motivate each other. It’s completely free, there’s no selling or self-promotion, and you can leave anytime if it isn’t the right fit for you. You’ve nothing to lose and it may be just the creative boost you need.
If you’ve been motivated, moved or inspired by my writing or any of my work, please consider becoming a patron.
If you already do support, then a deep bow.
Thank you. Sonas mór leat. Namaste.
