Creative Intentions Week 47 2019 for the Alliance of Independent Authors and Orna Ross Publications
Are you looking forward to the creative week ahead? Below I map my Creative Intentions Week 47 2019 for the Alliance of Independent Authors and Orna Ross Publications. Each week here on the blog I map my intentions under the three hats a digital creative entrepreneur must wear: that of Maker (who produces), Manager (who processes) and Maximizer (who promotes).
Join us here, in our private facebook group, to map your creative week with other authors and creatives. Each Monday we outline our creative intentions to each other. And then we follow up at week’s end with what we’ve accomplishedand the progress we’ve actually made.
We also support and motivate each other, and the maps and logs help to hold each other accountable.
Creative Intentions Week 47 2019: Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLi)
These are my intentions, wearing my three hats, as Director of ALLi, the Alliance of Independent Authors, a non-profit association for self-publishing authors.
MAKER: Just back from Oslo and a fantastic self-publishing seminar organized by Bold Book, an ALLi Partner in Norway. I’ll be blogging about that on the ALLi blog so prepping that this week, while it’s all still fresh in my head. I’m working with Howard to produce legal and contract guides for ALLi this week and with Gary, our new website designer on the pages of the main website because… te da!…
MANAGER: …ALLi is having a rebrand. We are getting a new logo and updating our website pages and book covers, which is leading to other key decisions around people and process.Marketer: Writing up the Marketing Plan for 2020.
Creative Intentions Week 47 2019: Orna Ross Publications
These are my intentions, wearing my three hats, for my author-publishing business. As an indie author, I publish in many formats and on many platforms, including this website) and I follow a multiple streams of income model.
- MAKER: Nonfiction: Keep on keeping on with the work in progress, Creative Self-publishing. First draft is almost there. It’s coming in way too long at around 100,000 words but I’ll sort that in the edit. Poetry: prepping a new book of Poems for Christmas about beginnings. Fiction: I’m now blogging Dancing in the Wind, the 2nd book in my WB Yeats trilogy in the “Friday Fiction” slot on my blog. I’m really happy about this as it reconnects me with fiction after my “year” (which is now turning into almost 2 years!) of non-fiction. Also notes and ideas for In The Hour, the book I’ll do after that, are going into Evernote.
- MANAGER: Having sorted ALLi’s finances, time to turn attention to Orna Ross Publications. Ahem! Feel the resistance and do it anyway!
- MARKETER: OR manager is also going to be working on the Marketing Plan for 2020 and pretty sure, before I start, that it won’t be including Amazon ads.
That’s what I’ll be up to. What about you? What will you be producing, processing or promoting this week?
Do pop over to our Go Creative! in Business Facebook group to map your own intentions. We support and motivate each other, and the maps and logs help to hold each other accountable.

It’s completely free, there’s no selling or self-promotion, and you can leave anytime if it isn’t the right fit for you.
You’ve nothing to lose and it may be just the creative boost you need.
