How Creatives Go Wild

So what are your creative intentions: Week 5 2019? It starts today!

In our Go Creative! in Business group, each Monday we outline our creative intentions to each other. And then we follow up on a Saturday with what we’ve actually accomplished during the week.

Accountability groups like this have been shown to greatly aid focus and productivity.

What’s unique about our group is that our report is given under the three hats a creative entrepreneur must wear: that of Maker, Manager and Maximizer. More on that here: The Successful Creative Entrepreneur’s Three Jobs: Maker, Manager and Maximizer

Creative intentions: Week 5 2019, Commencing Jan 28

So my creative intentions this week, wearing my three hats are:

  • MAKER (Creative Craft): I’m back drafting a new book, so 5000 words of draft ms is my maker’s top priority this week, and I’ll be doing ALLi’s Advanced Salon with Joanna Penn
  • MANAGER (Creative Direction): The great ALLi website upgrade continues. In the Go Creative! method, for long projects, we try to pin down exactly a week’s amount of work. This week it’s about integrating social media, and our online events and podcasts, with the other changes we’re making. Getting this right involves four presenters (Joanna Penn, Dan Blank, Michael La Ronn and Tim Lewis) and our two trusty assistants Kayleigh and Sarah.
  • MAXIMIZER (Creative Promotion): Pitching “How Authors Sell Publishing Rights” talk to an important rights conference in Frankfurt. At the moment, they have no author presence. Fie and for shame! And (carried over from last week) working on ALLi’s Rights Guide for the London Book Fair.

What’s on the creative cards for you this week?

Share your creative intentions and accomplishments in our Go Creative! in Business Facebook group, where we support and motivate each other.
