Taking the Right Creative Risks

In the Go Creative! method, it’s important for us not to just set goals and intentions and to do lists but also to log what we’ve accomplished and madeeach week. So here’s my writing and publishing week: Creative Week 10 2019.

On Wednesdays, I do a rundown of what we’re up to in ALLi and the self-publishing world, but on Mondays and Saturdays I focus on my work as an author-publisher and poet. You’re invited to share your accomplishments each week too, in our Facebook group, under the headings of producing, processing and positioning.

My Creative Week 10 2019: (Ends March 9th)

Playtime: For International Women’s Day, I enjoyed two poetry flavored events, organized by CanonLive. I did their course on make poetry film for YouTube this week and was thrilled to discover their work. It’s fab (Thanks Ross Lynch!)

Below is the work completed this week. You can see Monday’s intentions here

  • MAKER (Producing): This month’s exclusive poem for my Patreon patrons was sent. It’s called “I Know What It’s Like” and it was inspired by a young man cutting across an older lady in the supermarket queue. I have begun the blurbs and ads for my creative planner but I’ll need to continue this into next week.
  • MANAGER (Processing): Our website developer was ill so another delay. We’re taking the scenic route and traveling slow but we’re getting there.
  • MAXIMIZER (Positioning): I did a Medium Q&A interview with Regina Joyce Clarke, another author, which you can read here. I did a course with LiveCanon about making poetry film for YouTube and it helped me in the prep I’m doing for my poetry reading at the London Book Fair.

What about you? What have your creative maker, manager and maximizer been producing, processing and positioning this week?
