Online Events Weeks 18 and 19 2019: Scaling Without Burnout and Copyright Matters
Each week I do at least one self-publishing video or audio event online and once a month I run a workshop for those who want to go creative in business. Here are my online events Weeks 18 and 19 2019, the one just done and the next up.
Online Events Week 18 2019: Advanced Self-Publishing Salon: How to Scale your Author Income Without Burnout
In this month’s Advanced Self publishing Salon, Joanna Penn (thecreativepenn.com) and I discussed “How to Scale your Author Income Without Burnout”.
Scaling your author business doesn’t mean compromising your creativity or giving up on your life. There are tools and techniques that make the job easier and the key is knowing what you really want and saying no to everything else. We discussed the diversity of products an author can, and should, offer and the multiple streams of income now open to authors. And the importance of blocking time, adopting positive routines and building a freelance team as you grow.
Online Events Week 19 2019: Beginners’ Self Publishing Salon: Copyright Matters for Indie Authors
In this month’s Beginners’ Salon, I’ll be interviewing guest expert Rebecca Giblin on the important topic of copyright. Associate Professor Giblin is an ARC Future Fellow and CREATe Fellow at the Faculty of Law, Monash University, Melbourne and runs the website is www.authorsinterest.org.
As ALLi completes its Copyright Bill of Rights and surveys its members, Rebecca and Orna explain why understanding copyright is so important for indie authors, right from the start. And how to ensure that you are always going to be in a position to maximise your publishing rights while still fulfilling your duty to your readers.
