Each week I do at least one self-publishing advice video or audio event online. And once a month I run a workshop for creative entrepreneurs. Here are this week’s self-publishing events weeks 21 and 22 2019.
Self-publishing events weeks 21 and 22 2019: ALLi Self-Publishing Life Salon: Fitting It All In: How To Find Your Self-publishing Rhythm
In our monthly salon about living the self-publishing life, Dan Blank and I discuss finding your rhythm and balance, across days and weeks and quarters. I propose a three-part planning system that takes account of creative process and promotion, as well as production. While Dan explains why he doesn’t believe in balance, but obsession. His focus is firm schedules and accountability.
If you missed it, you can watch a replay of the Facebook Live session here. And it will be released as an audio podcast on the Alliance of Independent Author’s Self-Publishing Advice Center’s podcast page at the weekend. You can subscribe to the ALLi podcast here.
Self-publishing events weeks 21 and 22 2019: ALLi Advanced Self-Publishing Salon: Copyright Controversies
Think copyright is boring? Think again. Copyright controversies have seen people take to the streets in recent months, sign petitions, boycott certain companies, and even blackout Wikipedia. As big content, big tech and big legal fight court battles, Joanna and I talk about what it all means for the independent author, and ALLi’s new Copyright Bill of Rights. Plus: should authors try to stop piracy?
