The light of the sun
is spreading
over the sea
across the fields
down by the rivers
around the town,
into the cracks in rocks
the veins in leaves
the pores in skin,
sliding under the slits
in the lids of eyes
and prising them open,
tugging at sinews
in its silent way
to say:
Wake up.
Come out
of your lying
and sleeping.
Arise and see
I am here:
A new day.
A new day.
A new day.

For me, a poem is a key, unlocking a moment in time and revealing the creative depths that every moment holds. Poetry brings us to creative presence.
