This year, Yeats lovers everywhere are celebrating the 150-year birth anniversary of the Nobel-laureate Irish poet, who was born on 13 June 1865.
I wanted to do something special and after much thought decided what better way to pay tribute to a writer than to produce a very special book of his work, especially an aspect of his work that has been neglected?
And then issue it together with a novel that tells the real-life story-behind-his-stories.
This carefully crafted, limited edition book brings two books together: Yeats’s short stores, *The Secret Rose* and my novel, *Her Secret Rose* (similarity of title no co-incidence!), side-by-side in one volume: SECRET ROSE.
For this special, two-books-in-one limited anniversary edition, I hope to replicate the beautiful 1897 edition of *The Secret Rose*, printing on special paper and replicating the dark blue ribbed cloth cover, with its elaborate gilt design on spine and both sides. And mystical symbols that make this edition of the book so iconic.
To do it, I need your help. It’s an expensive project, as the paper and binding are rare, and don’t work well in modern machinery. And the design is so intricate and beautiful
You’ll be helping to create a very special book, that will last for at least another century and reclaiming Yeats’s neglected short stories from oblivion.
To thank you for your help, I’ve put together lots of special rewards.
